Schwaz is located in the Austrian Tyrol at 545 meters above sea level and is a district capital. It is home to around 14,000 inhabitants.

The city has retained its medieval flair thanks to some buildings from the heyday of silver mining. During a walk through the historic old town you can explore the numerous sights. The nearby Franciscan monastery, the planetarium, the Museum of the Peoples and especially the Schwazer Silver Mine are also worth a visit!
